Fondazione Antonio Ratti

Antonio Ratti Creating With Silk

EXHIBITION
18 December 2017–24 June 2018
FAR – Villa Sucota

Organized in conjunction with the two big exhibitions dedicated to Antonio Ratti at Palazzo Te, Mantua (Textile as art: Antonio Ratti entrepreneur and patron) and the National Roman Museum, Terme di Diocleziano, Rome (Arabesques, Antonio Ratti textile as art).

Antonio Ratti’s life, vision, and legacy were narrated through photographs, interviews, and through his textile collection, with particular attention to the cashmere pattern, his distinctive feature, represented by both the silk shawls of FAR collection and the drawings for prints and point-paper that he realized. The result was a professional and at the same time intimate picture, completed by an unpublished editorial project in which Antonio Ratti himself retraced the most significant moments of his life through images and short captions. The book, which has remained unfinished, was on display in the exhibition.
