Filippo Guarini was born in Rome. He has a degree in Humanities from the University of Florence. From 2001 until 2004, he was Head of Department and Coordinator of the Courses of Design at ENT ART Polimoda, International Institute of Fashion of Florence. In 2005, he became Director of the Textile Museum of Prato, where he is in charge of the scientific direction of the museum, as well as its administration and organization. He also projects and coordinates its activities, including the temporary exhibitions. Guarini is also in charge of the management of European and fundraising programmes. From 2010, he holds seminars and lectures in Organization and Management of Museums at the University of Florence. Currently, he is the regional coordinator for Tuscany of ICOM and since 2011, he is the member of the commission of accreditation of museums for Tuscany.
