Born in 1953 in Milan, Italo Rota graduated from the Politecnico di Milano. After winning the competition for the internal areas of Musée d'Orsay, in the late 1980s, he moved to Paris, where he does the renovation of the Musée d'Art Moderne/Centre Georges Pompidou (with Gae Aulenti), the new rooms of the French School at the Cour Carré at Louvre and the renovation of the centre of Nantes. Since 1996, he has been living and working in Milan. In 1998, he opened the Studio Italo Rota & Partners. The studio's works vary in kind, scale and typology: from museums to churches, from a casino to the auditorium and urban interventions, with a constant global approach that comes from the experience of displays, events, and temporary structures.
